Uzbekistan is placed in Central Asian region, between the rivers Amu Darya and Syr-Darya. Nature there opens for us amazing variety of landscapes. Here the coast of Aral sea is replaced by desert Kyzyl Kum, after subtropics of the Surxondaryo oasis begin ridges of Pamir and beautiful Fergana valley is finished by foothills of Tien Shan. In the southeast Uzbekistan borders with Kirghyzstan, in the north and the northwest – with Kazakhstan, in the southwest – with Turkmenistan, in the southeast – with Tajikistan, and in the south – with Afghanistan. The climate in the region is sharply continental. In January average temperature is from +4 °C to −8 °C, in July – from +22 °C to +42 °C.
 
The highest point above the sea level are Hissar mountains (height 4643) Mynbulak hollow (desert Kyzyl Kum) is the most smaller point above sea level (12,8).
 
The structure of Uzbekistan includes 12 regions and autonomous the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The cities of the country are located in valleys of the rivers. Largest cities of Uzbekistan are Tashkent(the capital of Uzbekistan), SamarkandBukharaFerganaKhivaTermezNukusKokand, Margelan.
 
Today Uzbekistan is a young secular state. In 1991 the country proclaimed independence and became the full member of the world community. According to Constitution was accepted on 8th of December  1992, Uzbekistan is a legal democratic state. The president of the Republic Uzbekistan – Islam Abduganievich Karimov. Oliy Majlis in republics executes legislature power. It consists of two chambers – legislative chamber (lower chamber) and the Senate (upper chamber).
 
In 1989 the Uzbek language was accepted as the state language which refers to Central Asian Turkish group of languages. Colloquial Uzbek language has different dialects. Russian language is the second by importance in Uzbekistan.
 
Uzbekistan holds the third place among the CIS countries after the Russian Federation and Ukraine. For January, 1st, 2012 the population of Uzbekistan coprised 29 559 100. It is necessary to notice that in the republic is observed high level of birth rate. Uzbekistan is a multinational state. Uzbeks, Russian, Tadjiks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Tatars, Kirghiz, Koreans, Turkmans, Armenians, Azerbaijanians, Jews etc live here.
 
All inhabitants are united by «mahalla» - a system of national self-management on places. Social protection in mahallas is provided by mahalla committees. They also help inhabitants to organize various holidays, and support to the poor or lonely old men.
 
he economy of the Republic is actively developing. The Monetary unit in Uzbekistan is Sum. The country occupies one of the main places among the gold mining countries. Uzbekistan on gold stocks is on the fourth place in the world, and according to degree of its extraction – on the seventh. The country has also essential stocks of oil and gas. In the Republic develops the chemical industry and nonferrous metallurgy, also Uzbekistan is one of the leaders in the world manufacturers of a cotton fibre. Except cotton agricultural production in the country fruit, vegetables, and also grain (wheat, rice and corn) are important. In Uzbekistan under the hot Asian sun ripe one of the world`s delicious fruits and vegetables. In addition in 2011 in the country was fixed the record harvest of grain crops (about 6,8 million). 
 
In the Republic of Uzbekistan is developed the machine industry. So, in the city of Asaka is located the factory of «GM Uzbekistan» which produces cars under licenses of Daewoo and Chevrolet.
 
It is possible to consider Uzbekistan as aviation power. The national company "Uzbekistan Airways" has adjusted regular air flights in countries of Western Europe, the USA, Japan and others. The given airline has the representations in 38 foreign countries. Air ways which connect Uzbekistan to the countries of Europe and Asia are convenient and economic.
 
Uzbekistan is famous also for riches of national Uzbek cuisine which is popular far outside of the country. Only in Uzbekistan it is possible to try real amber pilaf, delicious manty, juicy somsa, and also all known hot flat cakes. All these tasty food symbolize Uzbekistan and admire gourmets from every corner of the globe.
 
Uzbekistan has picturesque culture and public relations which developed centuries. The Uzbek national musical instrument is karnay. In the country operate about 40 theaters (Navoi Opera and Ballet Grand Academic Theatre, theater "Ilkhom") and conservatory. The considerable mite in art is introduced by the National symphonic orchestra of Uzbekistan.
 
Mass media is responsible for operative and objective informing of the population of the country. Here function all kinds of mass-media: the state broadcasting company, various Fm-radio stations, newspapers, and also Internet resources. Newspapers in Uzbekistan are published in Uzbek, Russian, English, Karakalpak, Kazakh and other languages.
 
In the Republic the high attention is given to development of national sports, among which: kurash, turon and ulak-kupkari. Also, football is very popular in Uzbekistan. There have been put big investments recently in football. Luiz Felipe Scolari at some time was a trainer of a known local team Bunyodkor. In 2011 in Mexico, in the World championship among young men under 17, the junior team of Uzbekistan has entered into the eight of the strongest on football.
